What is B’nai B’rith?
B’nai B’rith is one of the world’s oldest service organizations, having been founded in 1843, and is active in 56 countries on 6 continents. Through many avenues, including B’nai B’rith units such as Justice Unit #5207, the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization, B’nai B’rith Hillel, the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith, and our Centers for Public Policy, Community Action and Senior Services, B’nai B’rith members make a difference for the community by making significant and positive contributions. Visit B’nai B’rith International’s website for more information on B’nai B’rith’s history and activities.
What is the B’nai B’rith Justice Unit?
Justice Unit #5207 is a local chapter of B’nai B’rith International. Its members consist of Jewish attorneys and judges, located primarily in Broward County, Florida. The Justice Unit has provided an important avenue for civic and social involvement of our members, and has carried on the ideals of B’nai B’rith.
Our members have assisted the residents of Hatikvah House in Coral Springs with such projects as building a succah to celebrate the holiday of Succoth and the development of a garden for their enjoyment.
Our projects have included sponsoring a presentation of B’nai B’rith Justice Unit Book Awards and cash prizes to the law students receiving the highest grade in Constitutional Law at Nova Southeastern University Law Center.
Recently we provided roundtrip airfare so that a child under the care of JAFCO (Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Options) could attend summer camp.
How can I join the Justice Unit?
The B’nai B’rith International Board of Governors has approved a special three-year membership for new members of the Greater Florida Region.
